Suede, Tim Burgess & more to shoot films for Record Store Day 2013
Greatcoat Films have announced they’ll be filming a series of shorts for this year’s Record Store Day, announcing Suede and Tim Burgess to be among the acts featured.
Independent filmmakers Simon Oxley and Michael Legge of Greatcoat Films will shoot a series of pre and post event recordings to build up to the day as well as document the occasion itself.
Billy Bragg has already featured in one of the films, which you can stream below, and will be joined by Ghostpoet and Tom Odell in future films.
Co-director Oxley said of the project:
“We are thrilled to be the official filmmakers for Record Store Day 2013. We aim to give the independent record store a unique voice through our series of exciting and informative short films, highlighting this vital part of the music industry and how it is facing up to the challenges to its survival.”
