Study shows white people occupy 93% of jobs in UK music industry

Concern has been raised over diversity within the UK music industry, with a new report showing 93.3% of jobs held by those of a white background.
As Music Week report, government statistics show that just 6.7% of all jobs in the Music, Performing and Visual Arts Industries are occupied by workers of black, Asian and another ethnic minority origin. This does, however, include a 0.8% increase since 2011.
The report lists 227,000 jobs occupied by whites in the music and arts industry as a whole, compared to 16,000 held by minority groups. You can see how the music business compares with other industries below:
