Stewart Lee has been confirmed as the curator of next year's ATP festival, taking place in April.
Lee follows Matt Groening and The Chapman Brothers as non-musicians curating the event, which is traditionally curated by those from a musical background.
The first wave of acts will be announced soon.
The comedian and writer said of the event: “Of all the ATPs I've attended, the 2001 weekend, when Tortoise curated it and laid American free jazz, European improv noise, alternative country rock, alienating stand-up comedy, ambient electronica, Eighties hardcore, Seventies CBGBs nostalgia, smart-arse post punk, Dutch anarcho-jazz and all manner of unexpected cross-currents on curious young people, remains a pivotal point in my musical education. It's a great honour to be allowed to attempt something similar. Bring bucket, spade, swimwear and an open mind.”
Tickets for the event are available here; there are a very small amount of early bird tickets priced at £40.
ATP 2.0 curated by Stewart Lee will take place between 15-17 April 2016 at Pontins in Prestatyn, North Wales.
