Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, and more to play official Prince tribute concert
The lineup for the official Prince tribute concert has been unveiled, with Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, and Christina Aguilera among the performers.
The show will take place 13 October at the 18,500-cap Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Wonder is topping the bill, with Khan, Aguilera, John Mayer, Tori Kelly, Bilal, Anita Baker, Doug E Fresh, Mint Condition, Judith Hill, and Liv Warfield all also confirmed. Prince's 3rdEyeGirl band will be the in-house backing musicians.
Morris Day And The Time - who appeared against Prince in Purple Rain and Graffiti Bridge - are also due to play.
Prince’s sister Shara Nelson says of the tribute gig: “The family is extremely excited to provide an opportunity for the world to participate in the tribute for our brother Prince.”
Tickets will be on sale 19 September.
