Steve Lacy shares new single "Mercury" from upcoming album Gemini Rights
Steve Lacy is back with new single "Mercury", which is the first taster of his forthcoming second album Gemini Rights.
"Mercury" is Lacy's first outing since appearing on Calvin Harris' 2020 Love Regenerator single "Live Without Your Love", and marks his first new single as the lead artist since his 2019 debut solo album Apollo XXI.
The new song, which is accompanied by a Rubberband.-directed video, is also a first preview of Lacy's second album, which is titled Gemini Rights and is set to arrive this summer.
He told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 of the new single, ""Mercury" was done for like a year. The track was done for a year and then I didn’t write it till like a couple weeks before we finished the album. All of the singles, they all have a dual side, they all switch up, so like "Mercury" is the first half and then the second half is something else, and then the singles do the same thing."
