St. Vincent, Wilco, Courtney Barnett and more to feature on Sleater-Kinney covers album
Sleater-Kinney will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their Dig Me Out album with a new covers record featuring contributions from St. Vincent, Wilco, Courtney Barnett and more.
Last Friday (8 April) Sleater-Kinney announced a 25th anniversary tribute for their 1997 third album Dig Me Out, which will see artists including St. Vincent, Wilco, Courtney Barnett, Low, Self Esteem, Margo Price, Big Joanie, Tunde Adebimpe of TV On The Radio and more cover songs from Sleater-Kinney's record.
Sleater-Kinney revealed on Twitter that the covers are by "some of our closest friends and admired artists." They're yet to share a release date and tracklist for the covers album.
A portion of proceeds from the covers album will be donated to Portland LGBTQIA+ youth centre SMYRC.
