St. Vincent shares cover of Lipps Inc's "Funkytown" from new Minions film soundtrack
St. Vincent has released a cover of Lipps Inc's "Funkytown", which is lifted from the forthcoming Minions: The Rise of Gru soundtrack.
Following last week's cover of Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto's "Desafinado" by Kali Uchis and Diana Ross and Tame Impala's original track "Turn Up The Sunshine", St. Vincent has delivered her version of Lipps Inc's 1979 classic 'Funkytown" as the third outing from the Minions: The Rise of Gru soundtrack.
The upcoming Minions: The Rise of Gru soundtrack will also see Phoebe Bridgers, BROCKHAMPTON, Tierra Whack, Brittany Howard, H.E.R., Jackson Wang, Bleachers, Weyes Blood, Caroline Polachek, Thundercat, RZA and more cover songs from the '60s and '70s .
The soundtrack is curated and produced by Jack Antonoff.
