St. Vincent says her new album is "locked and loaded"
St. Vincent has confirmed that her new album is "locked and loaded", and is aiming to release it in late spring/summer 2021.
In the new issue of MOJO Magazine (via Reddit) St. Vincent confirms that her follow up to 2017's MASSEDUCTION is "locked and loaded", adding, "And i'm American so I will only use gun metaphors."
St. Vincent, real name Annie Clark, also told MOJO Magazine that her upcoming sixth album is "a tectonic shift" in relation to her previous material. She added, "I felt I had gone as far as I could possibly go with angularity. I was interested in going back to the music I've listened to more than any other - Stevie Wonder records from the early '70s, Sly and the Family Stone. I studied at the feet of those masters."
Although St. Vincent hasn't released any solo music this year, she did link with X Japan’s Yoshiki for a new version of "New York" in September, featured on Gorillaz's Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez album in October, and produced music for Julia Stone's new solo album.
Back in October St. Vincent launched her own MasterClass on songwriting and creativity.
