Squid release Robert Wyatt and Steve Reich covers for charity
Squid have released their covers of Robert Wyatt's "Pigs (In There)" and Steve Reich's "Clapping Music", and all proceeds will be donated to a charity.
The group originally performed their cover of Robert Wyatt's "Pigs (In There)" at last year's End Of The Road during a secret set for Best Fit.
Squid's cover of Steve Reich's "Clapping Music" was originally recorded for a NME session.
On why they're releasing the covers now, Squid explain, "We’ve all been affected by Covid in some way, but for people who were already struggling, the pandemic has increased the likelihood of lasting difficulties that will continue after lockdown comes to an end. All of the proceeds from this release will be given to the East Bristol Food Bank who are offering vital support in the local area, covering the whole city across five outlets. For more information go to www.eastbristol.foodbank.org.uk."
The band haven't released new music since May's "Broadcaster" single.
