Spring King share storming new single "Rectifier", sign to Island Records
The excitement surrounding Spring King is so vivid you can almost taste it. Cue the band's first single since signing to Island Records.
Propelled by the same distinctive energy that has already seen the Manchester quartet become something of a household name, "Rectifier" rages through distorted chorus hooks and chant-along breakdowns with unstoppable momentum - something that the outfit seem to have in droves.
Premiered on BBC Radio 1 last night (10 February) as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record, "Rectifier" is a three-and-a-half minute explosion of raw power, intoxicating intensity, and devil-may-care attitude.
"It’s been thrown around yet still holding a direction which means you end where you were meant to," the band's Tarek Musa says of the track. "My mind sees the aftermath of a storm, maybe the end of an era, growing up, being a teenager and coming of age. Becoming someone else. Someone new."
Spring King are currently on a headline tour of the UK, and will be playing shows alongside Wolf Alice and Kaiser Chiefs this summer. Stream "Rectifier" below, and find the group's forthcoming tour dates beneath.
"Rectifier" is available to download now, and will be available as a 7" single on 25 March.
