Spoon has been slowly teasing at a new album of late, and we just may have gotten an official announcement—albeit a cryptic one.
Last night, the band updated their social media accounts with the photo above, which dispenses a name and a date. It’s technically unclear if “R.I.P.” is intended as a song title or an album title, but all signs from the band are pointing toward album, especially given this update’s stark similarity to their last update, which simply read “new album summer 2014.”
Well, either R.I.P. or “R.I.P.” is out 10 June via Loma Vista Recordings, who, according to reporting from Billboard, recently signed the band, ending a long-time partnership with Merge Records.
Below, check out the previously shared album teaser.
