Spoon cover David Bowie's "I Can’t Give Everything Away"
Spoon have released a cover of David Bowie's "I Can’t Give Everything Away" on Amazon Music as part of the platform's month-long celebrations of what would've been Bowie's 75th birthday.
"I Can't Give Everything Away" featured on Bowie's final album Blackstar, and has been covered by Spoon for Amazon Music's month-long [RE]DISCOVER campaign ahead of what would've been Bowie's 75th birthday, which is on Saturday (8 January).
Frontman Britt Daniel says of the cover, ""I Can’t Give Everything Away" is a tune Alex and I have been playing since we learned it for an acoustic and piano show in Mexico City in 2016. It’s just a fantastic song, and as the last song on Bowie's final album it doesn't disappoint. We recorded this version live in December 2021."
As well as covering Bowie, Spoon are preparing to release their new album Lucifer on the Sofa.
