Spector announce second record Moth Boys, detail UK tour
Spector have announced their long-awaited second record Moth Boys and a series of UK tour dates for this autumn.
Dev Hynes, Duncan Mills and Adam Jaffrey co-produced the record with Spector.
The artwork is part of a series documenting "the morning after" by a range of German photographers and artists including André Giesemann and Daniel Schulz. The particular image they've used is Rechenzentrum (Berlin, 2009) from Von Bleiben. The band's singer Fred Macpherson said: "We got very excited when we first saw André and Daniel's photo as it immediately evoked similiar feelings to the music and words on the record - we're very honoured that they've let us use it."
Sam Riviere, one of Macpherson's favourite poets, has also written a new piece inspired by the record that will be included with all copies of Moth Boys.
Speaking on Facebook, the band said:
"After two years of work we’re over the moon to announce our second album ‘Moth Boys’ comes out August 21st. We’re very proud of this record and would like to dedicate it to all those who’ve been so patient in waiting for it."
The band will play a run of dates between 13 and 29 October, including a show at London's Heaven. More information on tickets/presales (available from 1 July) can be found here. Tickets go on general sale on 3 July.
Moth Boys will be released 21 August via Fiction. You can pre-order the record on all formats - including limited white vinyl (with bonus 7") - here.
