Someone paid a huge sum of money for Kurt Cobain's cardigan over the weekend
The iconic cardigan that Kurt Cobain wore during Nirvana's 1993 MTV Unplugged performance has sold for $140,800 at auction.
The sale took place at Juliens auction house at a specialist rock memorabilia auction.
The lot listing described the cardigan as "a blend of acrylic, mohair and Lycra with five-button closure (one button absent), with two exterior pockets, a burn hole and discoloration near left pocket and discoloration on right pocket."
Other items that changed hands for vast amounts of cash included Michael Jackson's fangs from the "Thriller" video, one of Lady Gaga's masks, Madonna's suit from Evita, and instruments belonging to John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Elvis Presley, and Nancy Wilson - Lennon's acoustic Gibson J-160E guitar shifted for $2.41 million.
