Someone has made a tortilla into a playable record - for real
We've all seen the ridiculous video of what a tortilla 'sounds like' on a record player, but someone has gone out and actually cut a tortilla to play real music.
Using lasers and basic audio editing software, a handy user on Instructables called UpgradeTech has created a playable tortilla - it's not brilliant, but by the looks of things, it does actually work.
He also tries out cutting "Macarena" by Los del Río, The Animaniacs' "Yakko's World", and "Puttin' On The Ritz" by Taco.
If you want to try it out yourself, you can. There's detailed step-by-step instructions, and handy hints of how to create the perfect tortilla record.
Watch the process of making the laser-etched snack and a snippet of it playing noises. It plays "The Mexican Hat Dance"/"Jarabe Tapatío".
