Despite talk of a reunion for her former group, Sleater-Kinney frontwoman Corin Tucker has now formed a new band under the working name of “super-Earth”.
As Portland Mercury report, the band sees Tucker team up with former R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck and Bill Rieflin of Swans. They’ll be joined by Scott McCaughey (Young Fresh Fellows, Minus 5) and Kurt Bloch (ex-Fastbacks) for shows in Portland this week, with an album expected shortly.
Tucker had previously recorded vocals for Buck’s two solo LPs.
