Sleater-Kinney reunite, perform live with Pearl Jam
Last month, Wild Flag’s Carrie Brownstein teamed up with both St Vincent and Pearl Jam live on stage at one of the latter’s band’s concerts. Now she’s made a cameo with the grunge outfit once again, this time taking the opportunity to reform her former group Sleater-Kinney for the occasion.
The band, also comprising of drummer Janet Weiss and guitarist/vocalist Corin Tucker, initially broke up back in 2006 but Brownstein reunited with the group’s two former members on stage with Pearl Jam, plus R.E.M.’s Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey, for a cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World”. It’s the first time they’ve shared a stage for seven years.
Watch footage of that beneath. Sleater-Kinney performed the same song with Pearl Jam on their tour ten years back in 2003 too.
