Skylar Grey plays snippet of new Rihanna track made with Diplo
Skylar Grey played a bunch of tracks from her archives on Instagram yesterday (2 September), and saw her share a snippet of a new Rihanna track made with Diplo.
Yesterday's Instagram LIVE Reject Party saw Skylar Grey offer a taster of what Rihanna's "reggae-inspired" album might sound like.
While scrolling through tracks to play fans, the singer/songwriter/producer stumbles across a track she made with Diplo for Rihanna. She says, "So for this one, I don't even have a real copy of the song because they never sent it to me, but luckily I recorded on my phone, a voice note, in the room while we were working ... I was working with Diplo on a song for Rihanna. I wrote this with a guy called Hymn."
She added, "Ok so this was when Rihanna was supposedly doing some kind of reggae album, and I don't know if she's still making a reggae album or what, but this is the song that we did for it, I don't have the whole song." Skip to 5:30 to hear the section about Rihanna.
