Sky Ferreira and John Grant among new names for Grace Jones’ Meltdown Festival 2022
Grace Jones has confirmed that she'll open her curated Meltdown Festival this summer with a performance featuring an orchestra, and has also announced new additions Sky Ferreira, John Grant and more.
Jones was first announced as the Meltdown Festival curator in 2020, and it's been delayed until 2022 due to the pandemic.
Previously announced acts including Peaches, The Love Unlimited Synth Orchestra, Skunk Anansie, Baaba Maal, Lee Scratch Perry with Adrian Sherwood, Oumou Sangaré, Meshell Ndegeocello, Lee Fields and the Expressions will perform at the rescheduled festival this summer, and today (7 March) some new additions have been confirmed.
Jones has added a second performance on the opening night (10 June) which will see her perform with an orchestra, and new names including Sky Ferreira, John Gran, Angélique Kidjo, Hot Chip and the Kasai Allstars, Desire Marea, Honey Dijon, Dave Okumu, Big Joanie and more have also joined the line-up.

Solange will no longer perform at Meltdown Festival 2022 due to the pandemic.
"In the face of adversity, there is no pandemic in the world that will stop me from curating the Meltdown festival," Jones said. "It is my mission to present to you many exciting and gifted artists from various sectors of the music world. Come, see and listen; experience this dazzling plethora of talent at the Southbank Centre."
