Siobhan Wilson announces the follow-up to her SAY-nominated debut album
Edinburgh-based songwriter Siobhan Wilson has dropped "Marry You", the first track from new record The Departure, scheduled for a May release.
It follows the success of her 2017 debut There Are No Saints, which placed in the top ten of the the Scottish Album of the Year award.
"Marry You" is "a hymn to the power and pleasure of autonomy". Wilson says: “I'm at an age where some of my female friends wonder, ‘When will he propose to me? What is he thinking?' And I wrote a song that's like: you propose to him, you are allowed to do that now.”
The Departure is released on 10 May via Suffering Fools Records and Wilson plays two shows that month: Night People in Manchester on 18 May and The Lexington in London the following day.
