Silver Jews' Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich, and William Tyler to play David Berman tribute show
Former Silver Jews members Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich, and William Tyler will play a tribute show for the late David Berman on what would be his 53rd birthday.
Malkmus and Nastanovich were founding members of Silver Jews in 1989. Tyler joined the band in 1998, ten years before Silver Jews disbanded.
The former members of Silver Jews will play a show in memory of David Berman, who died on 2 August aged 52.
A month before his death, Berman released the self-titled debut album from Purple Mountains.
Malkmus and co will perform the tribute show on what would be Berman's 53rd birthday - on 4 January at Portland's Bunk Bar.
Other musicians taking part include Rebecca Gates, Clay Cole, Franklin Bruno, Oed Ronne, A Certain Smile, and more acts yet to be announced.
There will also be numerous writers attending the show to read his some of his work and tell stories of the late musician.
Another tribute show for Berman's 53rd birthday will be taking place on the same day at Brooklyn's Union Pool, with performances from Steve West (Silver Jews, Pavement), Matt Hunter (Silver Jews, New Radiant Storm King), Hallelujah the Hills and other guests that are yet to be revealed.
