Sigur Rós announce return of keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson
Sigur Rós have reunited with their former keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson nearly a decade after he left the band.
Kjartan Sveinsson joined Sigur Rós in 1998 and left in 2013 to "do something different", but in a new Instagram post from this week, Sigur Rós appeared to announce their reunion with an image of Jónsi, bassist Georg Holm and Sveinsson on a FaceTime call.
Sigur Rós wrote, "Two old faces and one new old face. Three of us happy to be back together and doing what we love doing. Exciting times ahead."

Back in 2020 Sveinsson finally released his "Volcano" song, the one-song soundtrack to Rúnar Rúnarsson’s 2011 film of the same name.
Sigur Rós also released their latest album, Odin’s Raven Magic, in 2020, which they made in collaboration with Icelandic music legend Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson.
