Dame Shirley Bassey to headline Royal Albert Hall concert for 60th anniversary of James Bond films
Dame Shirley Bassey will headline The Sound of 007, a charity concert at London's Royal Albert Hall that will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the James Bond films.
This October the Royal Albert Hall will host The Sound of 007, a charity concert to celebrate 60 years of the James Bond films. The charity concert will coincide with the 60th anniversary of the first Bond film Dr. No, which originally premiered on 5 October 1962.
The Sound of 007 will be curated by five-time Bond composer David Arnold, and headlined by Dame Shirley Bassey. Garbage and Celeste will also perform with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra (conducted by Nicholas Dodd), putting their own spin on classic Bond theme songs.
James Bond Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said: "Music has always played a vital role in the success of the 007 series. Over the sixty-year history, we have been blessed with the extraordinary talents of legendary composers and artists who have created the most powerful and moving musical contributions to our twenty five films. The Sound of 007 in Concert on October 4th will celebrate their tremendous achievements."
In November, the Royal Albert Hall will also host a series of full in-concert screenings for Spectre, Skyfall and Casino Royale, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will perform live during the screening.
