Shabazz Palaces announce second new album, share lead single "30 Clip Extension"
Shabazz Palaces are planning a second new album this summer - it's called Quazarz Vs. The Jealous Machines and the outfit have shared its lead single "30 Clip Extension".
The LP is out the same day as Quazarz: Born On A Gangster Star, which was announced last month. It's produced by Palaceer Lazaro (aka Shabazz Palaces' Ishmael Butler) and Sunny Levine (Quincey Jones’ grandson).
Like Born On A Gangster Star, this second long-player focuses on Quazarz, "a sentient being from somewhere else, an observer sent to ‘Amurderca’ as a musical emissary to chronicle and explore." This time out Quazarz stumbles across a world where "humankind’s relationship with their tech-devices has become weirdly sensual."
The Jealous Machines will be available as an "illustrated album" with a 32-page book featuring imagery from Joshua Ray Stephens. Stephens ans Shabazz Palaces worked together to put the album to paper.
