Sextile's raucous post-punk LP A Thousand Hands is streaming in full [Premiere]
L.A. noisemakers Sextile are streaming their upcoming debut record A Thousand Hands exclusively on Best Fit.
The band weld together "surf punk, early industrial, ambient and post-punk" with psychobilly fascinations and a penchant for classic rock 'n' roll. It's a distinctly American subversion, using the world renowned sounds of decades gone by and twisting them into visceral horrors. The record's moniker is "inspired by a form of spirit channeling that guitarist/keyboardist Eddie Wuebben was experimenting with one night. Whilst doing open eye meditation he felt thousands of hands reaching down towards him – a vision that was both frightening and exhilarating."
If you like your noise matted together in complex knots with plenty of tangents and nods to US musical culture, this record might just be your thing.
A Thousand Hands is due 21 August via Felte.
