Serge Pizzorno links with Little Simz on new single "Favourites"
Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno has shared "Favourites" featuring Little Simz, the first single from his S.L.P. project.
Having teased S.L.P. over the past few days, the Kasabian guitarist has finally unveiled his first solo venture, and it features Little Simz.
Speaking about the new single, Pizzorno said, ""Favourites" is about identity in the digital age. I was interested in how online dating is a sort of snapshot of this identity crisis. Through the speed and structure of the song, I wanted to capture the feeling of the real you inside your head trying to get out and escape during a first date. It’s a dialogue between two people who are coming to terms with their true selves through their digital interaction becoming a physical one."
"Favourites" is Little Simz's first feature following the release of her GREY Area record back in March.
Explaining more on the collaboration, Pizzorno revealed Little Simz "completely blew me away", before adding, "It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, make music with hip hop or grime artists."
The S.L.P. project was created during the one year hiatus from Kasabian. Kasabian's last album was 2017's For Crying Out Loud.
