Sean Nicholas Savage pops to the past in low-key ballad "Suburban Nights"
Canadian musician Sean Nicholas Savage is preparing the release of 12th album Other Death, and to tease the release, he's unveiled a new track.
The Edmonton auteur sculpts a warm ballad in "Suburban Nights", twanged with keys and basslines of decades past. It's a low-key affair, with slowly, morphing vocals throughout, that begs repeated listens to adore rather than smacking you upside the head with pomp. Savage has always been a master of nuance, and he demonstrates the best of his abilities here.
Other Death is out 18 September on Arbutus.
