The Scorpios bring Afro-funk joy to End of the Road Festival

This year's offerings included a Polish minimalist jazz duo and the uncategorisable genius of Moor Mother, but if there was one band that really got the Tipi Tent crowd grooving, it was The Scorpios.
Originally formed by refugees from Sudan, the multi-ethnic, London-based eight-piece delivered an hour of premium Afro-funk that would enliven even the most tired soul. If Late Junction can secure acts of this calibre for their just-announced festival in East London next year, the city is truly in for a treat.
End of the Road continues on Saturday 1 September with headline sets from Vampire Weekend and Oh Sees.
