School Of Seven Bells uncover driving new pop track "Ablaze"
School Of Seven Bells have revealed a brand new track called "Ablaze" from upcoming final record SVIIB.
The new song is a pulsing, energetic ode, and it joins "On My Heart" and "Open Your Eyes" in previewing the LP - the first release from the band since the passing of guitarist Benjamin Curtis in late 2013 after a battle with T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.
The album was mostly written in the summer of 2012 before Curtis was diagnosed, and was finished with Justin Meldal-Johnson.
Speaking about the creative process, the band's remaining member Alejandra Deheza says: “That summer, when Benj and I started making the album, was one of the most amazing times of our relationship as two people. We were so happy, and we’d finally reached this perfect balance, after going through all the things we did together. There was no baggage, no hurt any more, everything was pure, true friendship. We’d hit every color on the spectrum. We were so close, and we had this flow like we’d never had before. That summer was so happy, and the mood and energy of this album perfectly captures that time.”
SVIIB is out 12 February 2016, and follows 2012's Ghostory.
