It was sad day back in November when news of The Luminaire’s closure began to ripple through twitter and online forums. A truly unique and independent music venue, shows at this much-loved Kilburn based space were blessed with a largely appreciative audience and an often-respectful silence.
This week offers a bittersweet and short reprieve from closure in the form of their ‘Wake Week’ – a selection of special shows in honour of the venue’s five and half years. Kicking off this evening with The Fence Collective and finishing on Monday with Piano Magic and Ringo Deathstarr, The Luminaire encourages you to “don your funeral garb” and “bring flowers, wreaths and your respects for these, the last nights, the darkest of nights.”
