Salty Artist Management disbands after sexual harassment claim
Salty Artist Management has closed its business after the company experienced a staff exodus in response to a sexual harassment claim against co-founder Chris Crowley.
According to a new piece by Billboard, Salty Artist Management closed its business quietly back in October after a sexual harrassment complaint was made against Chris Crowley, who co-owned the company with Chad Heimann.
The claim was reportedly made by a woman from the management team during a Zoom call in mid-October including the entire team, after working there for just a few months.
Billboard reports that the woman shared her sexual harrassment claim - which featured a text message Crowley sent to another male in the music business industry expressing his desire to "hook up" with her - with co-workers prior to the call, and her colleagues decided to leave Salty at the same time as her.
One manager of the disbanded company told Billboard, "There’s a known history of women coming in and working with the company and leaving, often with a bad relationship with Chris."
The piece also states that Beach Bunny, a band once co-managed by Crowley, decided to cut ties with him after hearing about the situation from another manager.
