SALEM reveal their first new music in five years
Michigan three piece SALEM have shared a remix of "Make It Up As You Go Along" by photographer/musician Wolfgang Tillmans.
Earlier this month Tillmans revealed that the Witch House pioneers were returning and that they'd be releasing a new record, the first since 2010 LP King Knight. The remix is the band's first new song since 2011 EP I’m Still In The Night.
Writing on Instagram, Tillmans reveals: "They did the remix in Montegut, Louisiana this month, where they lived for the last year... as expected the mix is super dense, highly abstracted from the original, and has an irresistible magic and pull. John [Holland] and Jack [Donoghue] were working on a new album there, and are completing it in Los Angeles, where they live now. Salem are back. Full Louisiana pictures when album comes out. Label tbc."
The original track - which is very different compared to the twisted noises SALEM offer up - appears on Tillmans' Device Control EP. The EP's title track appears on Frank Ocean's new album Endless.
