RZA appears on U.S TV to mark anniversary of Ol' Dirty Bastard's death, calls out Raekwon live on air
Wu-Tang Clan’s de-facto leader RZA took to U.S TV’s Arsenio Hall Show yesterday to pay tribute to fallen member Ol’ Dirty Bastard on the ninth anniversary since the rapper’s death.
Talking to the show’s host, RZA turned his attention to the upcoming Wu-Tang album, which has been heavily delayed. The producer and MC was prompted to clarity his recent accusations that Raekwon was delaying the record, saying: ”All of us came to the table so far, but Raekwon is the last one to come drop his verses.”
RZA added: “Today is the day Ol’ Dirty Bastard passed away, the thing is he can’t be here. I can be here, Raekwon can be here, Method Man can be here. And I know Raekwon is gonna be here, I have nothing but brotherly love for him, but put some of the business to the side and let’s go make some music.”
“I shouldn’t have needed to come on TV to say this.”
He also went on to talk about how he and the other Wu-Tang members managed to rise from their life of “deep poverty” and keep on the straight and narrow.
