Russ Millions reveals he once signed a 24 album contract
British drill rapper Russ Millions has revealed in a new interview that he once signed a 24 album contract with Pressplay Media.
Following the release his new track "Body" with Tion Wayne last month, Russ Millions appeared on a new episode of The Zeze Millz Show that went live yesterday (4 April), and discussed an absurd contract he signed early on in his career.
The drill rapper's "Gun Lean" track that landed in 2018 became the first UK drill track to reach the top 10 in the Official Singles Chart, but while speaking to Zeze Millz, the rapper revealed that he signed a 24 album contract with Pressplay Media, but didn't read the contract properly.
Russ Millions explained that after releasing "Olympic Chinging" with Loski and Taze back in 2017 and getting a million views on the video, Pressplay Media offered him a contract. He told Millz, "In my head I thought this was for a couple songs or something like that, ended up being for 24 albums or something stupid like that."
He added, "I swear to god, 24 albums. Something brazy like that." Russ Millions explained that he was "fresh off the road" and went on to say that it was in the "small print" that he didn't read, and confirmed that he didn't get anyone to actually read through the full contract because he was so "gassed".
When explaining more details of the contract, Russ revealed Pressplay Media offered him £60,000 in the contract, but at the time he was in a duo and his partner wasn't involved in the offer, so Russ told Pressplay Media to give them £30,000 each and they agreed.
Russ added that he ended up buying a car the day after the money was transferred to his account, and Millz asked the rapper when he found out about the 24 album condition in his contract, leading Russ Millions to respond, "Like, recently. Definitely within the last like eight months, but that's all dead now."
He also explained that Chip encouraged Russ to make a song called "Gun Lean", which gained attention from other labels, leading him to find out how "booky" his Pressplay Media contract was, which ended up being "void" anyway.
