Run The Jewels share virtual reality video for "Crown"
Run The Jewels have shared their new virtual reality video for "Crown", directed by Oscar-nominee Peter Martin.
The video can be viewed on smartphones via The New York Times' NYT VR app (free download on iOS or Android).
Martin, along with virtual reality company Wevr, have created the clip, which will be released as a 360-degree video online next month.
Anthony Batt, co-founder and Executive Vice President of Wevr, says of the collaboration: “Run The Jewels was at the top of our list to work with in VR because they tell immersive stories set to music and art. I believe their brand of hip-hop will lead VR in the right direction and we're stoked to be collaborating with them to bring VR to a larger audience.”
"Crown" is El-P and Killer Mike's first release for VRTJ - "a platform for additional VR content" - which will soon see the release of their Art The Jewels virtual gallery.
On Record Store Day (16 April), the duo will release a special customised VRTJ viewer.
