Rudimental and Bipolar Sunshine to collaborate to create a track in 24 hours
Chart-topping dance quartet Rudimental and emerging Mancunian singer Bipolar Sunshine are joining forces for an innovative music mentoring programme supported by Bacardi that will see them write, record, release, rehearse and perform an original track in just one day.
On 11 July, the artists will begin the process at 7am in a London studio and end the day performing the track at a show in The Vaults, Waterloo – 24 hours later.
The programme has been put together under the Bacardi Beginnings banner and seesthree established acts and three hot emerging artists working together to push the boundaries of music releases, with a unique brief around the creation, production and experience of music leading to the release of original tracks together. Previous participants include Best Fit favourites Jessie Ware, AlunaGeorge with mentors including Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard and Friendly Fires.
Rudimental’s Piers Agget commented: “The programme is different to anything we’ve come across before – the development of an artist’s music from conception to promotion in just 24 hours is a huge challenge and will really push our and Bipolar Sunshines’s creativity and production skills.”
Bipolar Sunshine added: “Showing the creative process and how two artists come together to collaborate on a track and then putting it straight out is an exciting innovation for the industry. People want to feel more involved with artists nowadays. What Rudimental have done, in terms of success and music, is nothing short of amazing and I can’t wait to get in the studio with them to create our track.”
Fans can watch the artists undertake their project online, with the track free for streaming at bacardibeginnings.com.
