Royal Trux announce Platinum Tips & Ice Cream, their first album since 2000
Royal Trux have announced Platinum Tips & Ice Cream, their first new studio album in 17 years.
The cult duo of Neil Hagerty and Jennifer Herrema, who split in 2001 but got back together a couple years back for a live show in L.A., will be releasing the follow up to 2000's Pound For Pound this summer. Platinum Tips & Ice Cream was recorded live over two days - one before and one after their reunion date in 2015 - and contains "live and unrehearsed" editions of classic tracks.
"The actual experience and qualities of the performance, the rawness that could be felt and heard live in 2016, now in album form," a press statement reads. "Conjuring the early feral spirit of the band devouring the sophisticated later years and coughing an insane hairball of sound.”
Royal Trux play Liverpool's Victoria Warehouse this May. Rekindle your obsession with "Liar" above.
