Royal Blood announce third album with title-track "Typhoons"
Royal Blood have returned with news of their third album Typhoons, and have unveiled the title-track to accompany the announcement.
The duo, made up of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, have returned with new single "Typhoons", which accompanies the announcement of Royal Blood's third album, also titled Typhoons.
"Typhoons" is the second track to be shared from the duo's third album, after last year's album opener "Trouble's Coming".
Royal Blood's new album will follow 2017's How Did We Get So Dark?, and is largely produced by the duo themselves - aside from "Boilermaker" (produced by Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme) and "Who Needs Friends" (produced by Paul Epworh, who also contributed additional production to "Trouble's Coming").
Kerr says of their third album, "We sort of stumbled on this sound, and it was immediately fun to play. That’s what sparked the creativity on the new album, the chasing of that feeling. It’s weird, though - if you think back to "Figure it Out", it kind of contains the embryo of this album. We realised that we didn’t have to completely destroy what we’d created so far; we just had to shift it, change it. On paper, it’s a small reinvention. But when you hear it, it sounds so fresh."
