Royal Albert Hall details changes to events ahead of second lockdown in England
London's iconic venue Royal Albert Hall has announced some changes to its upcoming events ahead of the second lockdown in England being enforced on Thursday (5 November).
Over the weekend Boris Johnson confirmed that England will go into a second national lockdown starting this Thursday (5 November), meaning all pubs, gyms and non-essential shops will close for the next month.
Some music venues across the country had just started to host socially-distanced events, but will be forced to close again by Wednesday night. London's Royal Albert Hall has responded to the lockdown measures today (2 November), detailing some changes to their forthcoming events in light of the lockdown announcement.
Following the announcement of a second national lockdown, our plans have had to change.

As long as lockdown measures are eased by 9 December, Royal Albert Hall's Christmas season events will go ahead. The venue has also confirmed that they will have to cancel or reschedule any socially-distanced events happening before 2 December.
Their livestream events are set to continue (at the moment). Niall Horan's livestream performance at an empty Royal Albert Hall will still go ahead this weekend (7 November).
Royal Albert Hall are still looking for donations to secure the venue's future after the coronavirus pandemic. The site states, "By this point of the year, we have lost around £24m in income. We welcomed the government’s £1.57bn Culture Recovery Fund announced in July, but the Hall has not yet received anything from this fund to date, and we are waiting to hear whether our application for a loan has been successful. The support we have received from everyone who loves this place has been such a boost throughout this most difficult of years, as we fight for our future."
