Rough Trade to open New York store in November
Leading UK independent record store, Rough Trade are to open a new shop in New York later this year, their first in the States.
Planning for said branch has long been in motion, but now the music retailer has confirmed that the store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn will open on 25 November.
“New York and London are similar in many ways — they’re kaleidoscopic celebrations of global differences and similarities,” Rough Trade co-president Stephen Godfroy recently told Billboard. “They enjoy an open-mindedness, a deep respect for the past, a voracious appetite for the future, which all combines to produce a climate that suits our individual approach to music retail.”
The store will be 15,000 square foot in all, playing host to in-store gigs and other live events.
