Rough Trade NYC cancels in-store gigs following noise complaints
The recently-opened New York branch of UK independent music outlet Rough Trade has been forced to cancel a series of in-store shows after they were hit with a succession of noise complaints.
As NME report, the store – which opened just last month – were set to host performances from the likes of Au Revoir Simone, Andrew Bird and DIIV. These have since been cancelled. Additional shows from Childish Gambino and Tourist have changed venues.
“We are working quickly to fix an issue we’ve run into with our venue’s noise level and how it effects the neighborhood,” a statement via the shop’s Twitter page reads.
In-store gigs from the Felice Brothers and Cults have been postponed, with hope that the matter will be solved nearer the time.
