Rough Trade and The Guardian launch new music download service
Independent record store, Rough Trade have set up a new music venture with The Guardian.
The Tracks Of The Week project will see a downloadable six-track EP, cross-genre compiled, given away every seven days to subscribers.
The service costs £2.99 a week, with a free month trial available to Guardian readers.
Rough Trade co-owner, Stephen Godfroy told CMU:

Not knowing what you’re going to receive each week replicates the thrilling sense of adventure felt in our offline stores, providing customers a priceless moment of trusted discovery, surprise and joy – characteristics at the heart of any Rough Trade store experience”.
The company’s founder Geoff Travis recently said he is considering opening more branches in the UK, as the chain prepare to open a new store in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, New York within the next six months.
They currently own shops in Notting Hill and on Brick Lane, London.
