Rosalía unveils new single "Aute Cuture"
Spanish sensation Rosalía has unveiled her latest cut, "Aute Cuture".
The new single is Rosalía's first since the Game of Thrones compilation track, "Me Traicionaste", featuring A. CHAL.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on his Apple Music Beats 1 show, Rosalía said of her new single, "I was preparing a couple of beats for another artist, El Guincho, and there was this one that Pablo started sampling this Loco, mira eso. You can hear it because we played the song on different shows during the summer, and once the bit was done, I said, "Like wow. This is my song. This is going to be my song.” So, I just started writing lyrics at home and I did something weird, something that I usually never do, that was, I started dancing while I was doing top lines. Just moving. I was thinking physically. So it just came on the top lines, and the song. I am so happy that I can release the song, the video for it. I think it's about movement, the song has a lot of energy and makes you move I think. I think I will experiment a lot, and not everything is going to be about movement for sure. That's all I can say. I've been touring, but at the same time I was in the studio. And I mean, this moment that really want to prepare a lot of music, and release a lot of music during the year. I think I'm just having fun, you know. I'm just having fun in the studio. I'm just trying to write lyrics in different ways that I haven't done before. You know, but at the same time, I make music with the same attitude, with the same energy. Like trying to just use things that I never used before, as I always do. This is the way I always do it, you know?"
During the same interview, Rosalía also spoke about working with Billie Eilish, "I would say that maybe the way I make music in the studio when I'm by myself, I think is the same. I think it's quite the same. But when I'm making music with other artists, for example, with Billie, when I was in the studio with Billie, yes, it was so different, because I never did something like that, I never started the song with an artist that was playing the piano, like so talented, so dedicated. She was creating melodies with the piano and it was so different. I never did it before like that. And you know, she made me get very inspired to do top lines and to start lyrics and I don't know. And you know, she impressed me. Like when I was in the studio, I think that usually I never get that shocked. I don't know how to describe it. When she started recording and singing. Wow. And she has these amazing direction. She has these amazing drive, like she knows exactly what she wants and I felt less alone when I found her."
She also revealed that the song isn't finished yet, "I need to finish the song for real. We are very busy. I understand. But we'll find a moment. We'll find the moment."
