Rosalía has nearly finished working on her new album, says she's "really happy" with the songs
Rosalía has revealed she's nearly finished working on her new album, and has said that she's "really happy" with the songs.
In a new interview with Vogue Magazine, Rosalía has discussed the progress she's made on her follow up to 2018's El Mal Querer.
The article reveals that Rosalía is aiming to release her new album in 2021, and has been spending up to 12 hours a day working on it during the pandemic from a rented house in Miami. She told Vogue, "I needed to be at home, I needed all these hours, just doing this."
On how much progress she's made on the new album, Rosalía said, "This is the moment, I think, where everything is flowing, I’m finishing the songs, and it feels different than the beginning of the year. Now I’m closing the cycle of these recordings, and I’m really happy with them."
Earlier this month Rosalía made an appearance on Pharrell's OTHERtone podcast. Pharrell discussed Rosalía's new album. He said, "The fact that this girl understands herself that much and understands what this is going to do to people, and then when you hear the music and it absolutely lives up to it, it's like, again I was just honoured to be a part of it, just honoured."
He added, "When you hear this music - when you hear the title - she's just doing things that I feel like - and I say this respectfully - I think she's doing things her culture hasn't done."
