Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever outline debut album and reveal sublime new song "Talking Straight"
After releasing a pair of ferociously exciting EPs that firmly established them as an act on the rise, the Meborne-based collective have revealed the details of their highly-anticipated debut album alongside striking new single "Talking Straight".
The new album, entitled Hope Downs, is due to be released on 15 June via SubPop Records and "Talking Straight" acts as a perfect teaser for what is to come.
Earworm melodies, sublime lyricism that explores a kind of dystopian world of human loneliness and conflicting guitar riffs that power the whole thing forward all accumulate to wondrous, anthemic effect.
"The concept came about when I heard someone talking about the possibility of us, humans, being alone in the universe, and how sad that would be," Explains singer/guitarist Joe White on the inspiration behind the song, "The idea in this song is that we might be lonely, but we could be lonely together."
The announcement comes just before Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever embark on an extensive US and European tour later this year, which will also see the band play festivals such as Coachella, Shaky Knees, The Great Escape and Primavera Sound.
