Róisín Murphy confirms new album is landing in August
Róisín Murphy has confirmed in a new interview that her new album is due to arrive in August.
Back in March, Murphy returned with her eight-minute disco anthem "Murphy's Law", which followed on from last year's "Narcissus" and "Incapable" tracks.
Murphy is yet to announce a follow up to her 2016 album Take Her Up To Monto, but on Monday (8 June) Murphy confirmed her new LP will be arriving in August.
Speaking to Robert Bound on the latest Monocle on Culture show, Murphy confirms that her new album is arriving "in August" around the 13:47 mark.
Murphy adds of the LP, "The background of the album, is that I've known Parrot since he was a teenager, and I've worked with him on and off a lot over the years. The first thing that ever came out that will be on this record is called "Simulation", and that came out in 2012. So the project has been dripping and dropping since then. She adds that there will be "eight singles" from the album.
