Synth pioneer and electronic music visionary, Robert Moog has been inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
The honour is set to be made by the U.S Patent and Trademark office at a ceremony in Atlanta on 1 May, paying tribute for Moog’s eponymous synthesiser.
“The Moog synthesizer helped revolutionize the face of music by giving artists and composers the capability to create a brand new palette of sounds,” the authorities said of the influential instrument.
Robert Moog invented the synth back in 1964. He died from a brain tumor in 2005, aged 71.
