Rina Sawayama performs "Dynasty" live for the first time on new NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert
Rina Sawayama is the latest artist to take part in NPR's Tiny Desk (Home) Concert series, which saw her and her band perform "Dynasty" live for the first time.
Following the one-year anniversary of Rina Sawayama's debut album SAWAYAMA on Saturday (17 April), she's released a new Tiny Desk (Home) Concert for NPR today (19 April), which sees her and her band perform three tracks from the record.
Sawayama opens her set with an epic performance of "Dynasty", and says after, "I've been dying to play this because I was meant to go on tour last year (like lots of other artists) and I couldn't, and the record came out last year and this is the first time we've played "Dynasty" live, so it's very special. Thanks for being here with me."
She also went on to play "XS" and "Chosen Family", a song she re-released last week with new contributions from Elton John.
When marking the one-year anniversary of her debut album over the weekend, Sawayama revealed on Twitter that she's already staryed work on her second album, "btw I've already started album 2 with Clarence Clarity and I love it. Put next to SAWAYAMA its gonna cover all musical bases."
