Rina Sawayama leaks "Chosen Family" lyrics and chords so fans can interpret the song before release

Artists have been getting creative with ways to connect with their fans during the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing.

This afternoon (23 March), Rina Sawayama announced her next SAWAYAMA single "Chosen Family", and has called on fans to use the lyrics and chords (which she leaked herself) to create their own interpretation of the song before its release on 3 April.

On her Instagram post, Sawayama writes, "I decided to LEAK my own lyrics and chords to Chosen Family ahead of its release to see what u, the Pixels, can come up with !! I know you're all stuck inside right now so pick up ANY instrument and send me YOUR version of Chosen Family !! metal? pop? garage ? R&B ? country ?DUBSTEP ?? 60/90/270 BPM?? whatever genre u like, just hit record and send me !"

"Chosen Family" will be the fourth single to be shared from her new album, after previous offerings "XS", "Comme Des Garçons (Like The Boys)" and "STFU!".
