Rihanna reportedly leaves Def Jam for Jay Z's Roc Nation label
Rihanna’s long-term involvement with Def Jam Records seems to have come to an end, with speculation of the singer signing to Roc Nation.
The Barbadian pop star originally inked a six-album deal with Def Jam back in 2005, after auditioning for then-President, Jay Z. She joined Hov once again after penning a management contract with his new company Roc Nation, and now it looks like she’s switched her record labels also.
Complex note that Rihanna has been added to the “label” category of the Roc Nation website, while FACT report that an announcement is expected shortly but Def Jam will still distribute Rihanna’s next record.
Rihanna’s seveneth album, Unapologetic, was released in 2012.
